Is Bill Clinton Rewarding NKorea for Bad Behavior?

John Bolton, an outspoken hardliner in the previous administration of George W. Bush, told AFP that Clinton's mission to Pyongyang undermines a number of public stands held by his own wife, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

"It comes perilously close to negotiating with terrorists," Bolton told AFP when asked about Bill Clinton's trip to secure the release of journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee.

The pair were sentenced in June to 12 years in a labor camp for an illegal border crossing and an unspecified "grave crime," after they were detained by North Korean border guards on March 17 while working on a story.

"I think this is a very bad signal because it does exactly what we always try and avoid doing with terrorists, or with rogue states in general, and that's encouraging their bad behavior," Bolton said.

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.

John Bolton will criticize anything that the Clintons do. Ask the parents of Laura Ling and Euna Lee what they think and then get back to me. I don't think that the US gave into the Great (?) Leader other then a photo op.

Laura Ling and Euna Lee had no business snooping around an area that they could get picked up like that in the first place, and since they did, they knew that it could happen.

This crap of playing pattycakes with the enemy is stupid and only gives N Korea the recognition they were looking for.

Now other rogue states will be trying the same kind of crap. Wait and see.

So your saying since 2 innocent woman went in a place they probably shouldn't of that gives North Korea the right to imprison them for 12 years.  And you know while the woman were there they were sexually abused.

Those 'innocent' women are reporters and knew the danger they were putting themselves in. I have already stated this. If we pander to the enemy everytime that happens, we will most certainly be defeated by the enemy everytime. That is basic wartime knowledge. I saw you say on another thread that you are only 15, so I wouldn't expect you to have much intelligence in how the world really works.

Do yourself a favor and bow out of the political threads until you finish school and have fully read history. You will end up making a fool of yourself if you tangle with me.

I won't do anything to myself if I get "tangled" up with you.  Your a smart man I'll tell you that.  Ok so if this was your daughter or one of your relatives you would not want Clinton to go rescue them.  Do you just have hatred against Democrats?

As I stated before, they put themselves in that position and knew the danger they were putting themselves in. No I would not want anyone to pander to a terrorist nation, even if it were my own family involved.

You see, when you give in to a bully, they will see how much more they can get if they turn the screws a little harder the next time. That would be putting the rest of my family and friends in More danger later on. You have to think of it in terms like a game of chess. That's what war is really.... Each move determines what happens next. If you make the wrong moves, you lose.

No I do not 'just hate Democrats', and that is a ridiculous question. My neighbor is a Democrat and we get along just fine. Of course he had better sense than to vote for Obama, so that helps...lol
