City tells uncle he owns abandoned house next door to him, but he does not

there is a house next to my elderly uncles house.  It has been abandoned for at least 8 years or more. The city has now issued a summons for an unsafe structure. The house does not belong to him and never has.  the  addresses of his house and the house in question, are different.  The block and lot numbers seem the same except for two zero's in front of the lot number.  Calls to the city have been fruitless.  my uncle is in his eighties and needs help.  Thank You

Its never too late to ask.

Ask your Uncle to give you his tax bill, the one he uses to pay property taxes. Then once in hand along with the letter he rec'd go down to the Board of Equilization usually located in City Hall or the Planning Dept ask them to research the property lines between his property and the one in question, that will answer and hopefully settle this matter once and for all.
