Christian teacher vs wicken teacher

A professor at my daughters school took up an hour of class time to tell students she was wicken.  If a christian teacher did that she would be in trouble.  Why is that?  Just wanted your opinions.  Thanks

That's because Christians are more conservative that other religions.

There is a concerted effort in this country to marginalize and eliminate Christianity from our culture. It is a result of the increasing secularism and materialization of our society.

Christians can't do anything in a classsroom that is religious. That is due to the extreme bias that exists today against Christianity. There have been too many persons take Christianity to court in the issue of separation of church and state.  M. Ohare, the ACLU and others are fighting against we who are Christian.

The schools are now afraid to allow anything Christian in their buildings because they might be taken to court and have to spend a lot of money they can't afford. Some schools are more friendly to Christianity than others; I don't want to put them all in one category. We truly appreciate those who allow some religious expression.

Until someone complains about what the professor did at your daughters school she will get by with it and will do it over and over. She can do that easier if it is a private school also and they need teachers. If they need her they will overlook things she might do that are less desirable. It she is in a public school you and others have a right  to complain about anything you don't like that goes on in your school and in your daughters classroom.

It's true, she shouldn't have done that. I'm not a Christian. In fact, I'm probably closer to what people would consider a wiccan. But here's the thing. Fair is fair, right is right. If a Christian isn't allowed to espouse their religion in a classroom, neither should a wiccan or any other religion. A policy has to be all or nothing, you know. Either everybody can, or nobody can.

I have no dislike or problem with any religion, as long as it isn't forced on me. What this teacher did was forcing it on the students. And that's not right no matter how you look at it.

satan does not care if untruths are preached, but if the truth is preached[Jesus the son of God dieing for your sins] then he gets very aggravated and wants to squash it.He knows that if people beleive and receive this truth that they will receive eternal life. This bothers him because he knows his time is limited before he is totally destroyed and he wants to take down as many as he can with him. This is a spiritual truth. With that being said, have you noticed how the world system has been trying to rid itself of anything to do with God or Jesus. This world system is actually Satan working overtime to accomplish his buisness.

God did not give me the spirit of fear, but that of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.  11Timothy 1:7

Wiccan claims to be a religion, I don't know.  Perhaps the teacher was trying to gather some new recuits.  Like many have already said, it is a shame that we as Christian Americans have to keep our spiritual feelings locked within, and any other sect of people have the rights to speak out freely.  If I were you, regardless if the school is private or public, I would go to the administration and tell them about the time spent on her and her beliefs, rather than teaching the class.  Protest against it, don't ignore it.  Take into accout our children are being taught how to have  safe sex if they are gay.  Go to Mark Jennings web sites.  God is being forced out of existense by the society we live in.  If you instill the gospel into the mind of your child, it may not cure, but it will help.  The Bible says, "Bring a child up in the way he should go and he will not depart from it."  They may wander away, but they will one day return to the teachings.  Good luck with the decision you make, and God bless.

Talking about one's religion in the context of a class discussion is inappropriate regardless of what religious belief you are.  That goes for whatever religious belief you adhere to. Religion is a personal thing.  Even if the class was discussing say the Salem Witch Trials and the class got off track, it still would be inappropriate if she digressed into her own particular belief system except in a generic way.  If you or your child felt uncomfortable regarding this, than I would speak to the principal of your school.  If, however, the class was discussing comparative religions as a topic and the subject of Wicca came up in a generalized way as a religious pathway that was compared to other types of paganism or religious practices, including the major religions without personalization, than it would be OK.  It really depends upon the context of the discussion.  I would say this if the teacher was a Christian or whatever and the teacher started discussing their particular religious beliefs from their own perspective.

Christians need to reclaim our spiritual heritage in this country. We need to stand in prayer and fasting to take the mountain of education out of the hands of the kingdom of darkness, and bring it back to the kingdom of Light and the Lord Jesus Christ.  The question is, Are we Overcomers?
