Have a 2000 Dodge Dakota 3.9 with 144K+ miles.  Four years ago, on my way to So Dak, the flipper paddle inside the heat/ac floor assy closed and stopped air from coming out of the dash vents.  Took it to a dealer in Sioux Falls, kept it all day but could not get it to do that.  Drove back to Alabama without incident.  About a month ago, on my way to Orlando, it happened again.  Stopped at a dealer and after a bill for $119.00 got on the road.  Twenty minutes later, it happened again.  Turned a/c off for twenty minutes, turned it on and it worked for about 15 minutes.  Continued with this all the way to Orlanda.  On the way back, worked fine until I stopped in Dothan to eat.  Back on the road, 20 minutes and it does it again.  Continued the thing all the way to Montgomery.  Took it to a shop, kept it for a week but could not get it to do it.  So, took it home and was going to go to North Carolina but decided it would be a problem.  Left it with another shop.  Called this past Friday.  Still looking for a vacum leak.  Can anyone address this problem and can anyone come up with a cure?  It does it both on A/C and Heat.
