Simply put, 1 stick of 1/4 of the one pound pack. If you get butter in the one pound block, it's 1/4 of the block.

A one-pound package of butter usually contains 4 sticks, each stick equal to 8 tablespoons=1/4 pound=1/2 cup.  Hope this helps!Laughing
