Blunders and Insensitivity

How quickly "the powers that be" forget. Now everyone has a stark reminder of the terror and tradgedy of Sept. 11, 2001. Was this ignorant blunder a blessing or a curse?

I do NOT understand how this can be called a "BUSH blunder"!

It was plain stupid, but NOT Bush's fault that one of Obama's idiots ignored advice.

ALSO, considering the COST, it is inexcusable to spend THAT much TAXPAYER MONEY for a "publicity" photo when the SAME type of picture could have been done on ANY computer with Photoshop!!  (It also would NOT have "scared" people.)

I think helmsindian was referring to the 911 attack not therecent flyover blunder. Still the response is the conspiracy theory fantasy that I don't feel is reality. This blunder with the flyover was simply a mistake for which the responsible person issued a public appology, submitted his resignation and was then fired. The money aspect for the pictures is absolutely rediculous but that is the standard for cut-throat publicity we have allowed to become the norm. It did stir memories of the 911 horrific terror. I think we need to be reminded of that day to keep terrorism in proper perspective. This blunder showed how easily the system failed and how susceptible we really are for the same thing to happen again. We cannot let our guard down.

Helmsindian, are you suggesting that those who attacked us on 9/11 would not have tried to attack us if someone else had been President? Someone else was President when the first WTC attack occurred, when our two embassies in Africa had been blown up, and when the USS Cole had been attacked.

As for the recent flyover controversy, the person responsible for this cosmically stupid and expensive stunt was immediately forced to resign. At least Barack Obama didn't declare that that person was doing "a heck of a job."
