Blower motor noise

I have a 2000 Chevy Monte Carlo when turning on the fan or A/C there is a lowd noise in the engine compartment. It does not sound like the compressor. There also is a noticeable noise under the dashboard when the fan is turned on. Could both problems be caused by a bad blower motor?

The A/C works fine.

Yes, most blower motors are mounted on the fire wall in the engine compartment. Look for the round bump out on the passengar compartment. That could be where the noise is coming from. The reason you hear it in the interior is because the air conduits bring the noise of a failing fan in.

Yes, this is where your noise is coming from. Best to have the blower motor replaced with O.E.M. factory parts by a dealer, thay will also check for reason parts failed, or other failures that might have happend due to this problem. If you are a do it yourself kinda person, get the service manual for this car cause your going to need it.
