Black spider with one yellow stripe

Okay, i was in my room today, i still am. And i saw a spider run down my wall. I am guessing from a vent. And my brother got close to it, and he saw that it was black and NOT fuzzy, and had 1 yellow stripe running down its back. It was about the size of a quarter. I live in Michigan. What could it be?

Bull. Reality is, it will usually hurt like hell and leave you with a permanent limp.

Well, it wasn't a widow, and it wasn't a brown recluse; so, it's nothing to worry about  -  99% of spiders will not bite, and of those that do, only the widows and recluses matter.
