I started this search by typing "BgMonitor" into a Google search box. Then came the box, "Want More Answers? Ask the community about "BgMonitor"."

What is this? I found it while using my newly installed Norton Utilities (ver. 14), looking at the STARTUP TAB in my System Config Utility. It is referenced to NERO. It's path on my computer is:

"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\Lib\NMBgMonitor.exe"

I'm curious about what it would be used for. The checkbox that begins this entry is UNchecked, so I assume it's not being used in the Startup System Configuration. I'm just curious about what it does and what would happen if it's checkbox were to become checked, which I don't want to have happen.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Pete, I'm not sure what this is, but when I have a computer question, I use www.helpmerick.com. It once was a radio show in our area, but it doesn't broadcast here anymore. It is still on the computer, you can ask questions, and "Rick" has been great about answering mine. You can also do research there about many, many types of probems. There is also a free newsletter that comes out weekly about various computer items. Hope this helps.
