Automotive fasteners and bolts

Im trying to replace the floor mat on my 02 Chevy Silverado pickup with carpeting and I need to know what kind of fasteners hold down the front of the seats. The rears are Torx bolts, but the fronts are studs with a type of nut Ive never seen before. Its a star type with rounded edges. What are these, and what kind of socket do I need to remove them?
