Patrons for the Arts/Boston
Former Boston Ballets Soloist, James Reardon, particularly profound in the Balanchine repetroire, formed my own company in 1992. We have received - as a gift from the Balanchine Trust, 9 ballets -- worked with the living legends of Ted Shawn/Ruth St Denis (founders of Jacobs Pillow in the Berkshires of Massachusetts), Agens DeMille - plus commissioning upcoming new choreographers to create new works - working with the professional dancers of BDC.
We perform for over 25,000 children each year all over New England with our touring Nutcracker, working with various teachers at the schools that attend in the reading/music/phys ed/music curriculums preparing the student body for their - live/in theater/performance of The Nutcracker. Student performance ticket prices are $8 per seat - unheard of in Boston or anywhere in the USA.
Bad ecomony these past few years. Less attendance (for which we gave schools free seating at our expense).
Now - the company cannot afford to perform, the school is lessening in attendance because of lack of scholarship - AND most importantly, the Artistic Director has refinanced his home four times to save the company. He is currently up for foreclosure, and all we need is a mere$5,000 - $6,000 (to be absolutely secure, to get past this devasting economic situation.
We are persuing all avenues, to enrich our educational outreach, enhance our school, and save our founder/artistic director.
Please email us at bstndnc@aol.com, or telephone James at 617/491-8615 with any contributions, support and especially suggestions that may help us and our student survive.
Thank you in advance
