Friends of the Neuromuscular Disease Center at the University of Rochester Medical Center and of the Friends & Families Muscular Disorders Foundation will be hosting the Golden Benefit Charity Arts & Craft Show and Sale to be held on Saturday February 28, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 8250 Park Road, Batavia, NY with proceeds from this event going to the Neuromuscular Disease Center at the University of Rochester Medical Center & Friends & Families Muscular Disorders Foundation.
The Neuromuscular Disease Center at the University of Rochester Medical Center offers state-of-the-art comprehensive care to over 4,500 patients affected by neuropathy, ALS, muscular dystrophy, myasthenia gravis, and other neuromuscular disorders. The Center strives to provide patients and their families with the tools, resources, and emotional support they need to understand and meet the challenges of their diseases so they can live their lives to the fullest. Physicians and scientists at the Center are actively involved in research to uncover the mysteries of these neuromuscular disorders and to develop new treatments.
Friends & Families Muscular Disorders Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that gives financial aide to research a cure for hereditary neuropathy and muscular dystrophy disorders. It also provides financial assistance for clinical care of persons afflicted with these disorders, provides information and promotes understanding of hereditary neuropathies and other dystrophy disorders through committee presentations to other organizations, health fairs, informational brochures, public service announcements and support groups for these disorders.
The cost of this event is $50 per 10 x 10 space and also on gift item to be used as a raffle or auction item at our 12th Annual Golden Benefit Charity Golf Classic & Dinner to be held on July 19, 2009 at Lima Country Club, Lima NY.
