I have an antique, brass inkwell that was presented to my dad in 1940 in England. I'm wondering about it's origin and maker? It is footed, ornate with a cherub figure on sculpted flowers, two covered inkwells with porcelain inserts all on a bed inscribed to my father, on a sculpted, footed base. The only marking on the underside is BD 455. I don't know what this means so anything you can tell me is helpful.
