I recently bought a new alternator (the one that O'Riely's recomended) for my '96 Eagle Talon ESI. It's 2.0 L, 16-valve DOHC, it's front wheel drive with a 5-speed manual transmission. my dad had a friend of his install both the alternator and the radiator at the same time and when I got it back to drive it was all good it seemed at first, but then it seemed like the battery was dying again, even while I was driving, just like before. (the same reason I got a new alternator in the first place). Instead of buying a brand new battery I went the cheap way and got a good one from a friend for much cheaper. That one's dead now too. If you ask me I'd say something's grounding out and draining the battery, but I'm no mechanic! I just want to know what the other potential problems could be that cause a car to do this? Is the alternator bad from the factory? Or was it maybe installed wrong? Or is it even the right alternator for my car?
