Adult stepbrother didn't tell me our oldest brother died.

I have never had a close relationship with my stepbrothers. I've tried & tried over the years to be close to them. When their kids graduated I sent gifts. When they got married I sent gifts. They know where to send invitations but when my brother died they never called and never tried to get in touch with me. When my kids graduated & got married they never got a card! Nothing!

I asked why they never called they were silent. They are like that. They have been jealous of me for years and it shows. Also, I've given out loans that were never paid back. Now, I'm over it. I hung up on both of them & haven't heard a word since.

Did I do the right thing? Options?

Patsea, There is always jealousy among siblings. Don't worry about it. You had done enough for them. Just live your life. If they call you, be polite. If they don't call, get busy with your own life. You can't control their behavior. Take care.

Hi patsea

I am sorry that your brother passed away, espically not being notified about it.  You do have a right to be angry but don,t hold a grudge.  Love everybody as best as you can and live a happy and guilt free life.  I would just stay away from them  and it is a sad thing, but your a better person i think by the way you talk. It is sad that some people are like they are, but they are not the first to be like that and i am sure they won't be the last ( sadly to say ).  Just be the good person you are and leave them to their misery.
