AOL and VISTA compatible?

Has anyone been able to load AOL on Vista OS? I have an HP notebook that came with Vista and I was running AOL 9.5 for several months then it quit. Reloaded AOL in 9.0VR, 9.1, 9.5 and none would get me access. It goes as far as getting access number and then does not go any further. HP and AOL have talked me through some things but nothing works. Any suggestions?

I don't have any suggestions, but I am running VISTA Home 32 bit and have no problems running AOL9.5 so it should work.  Good luck--keep after AOL.

Here is my guess.  The new files that are being downloaded from AOL every time when you sign off may be incompatible with files that are being updated from time to time by Vista.  If I were in your position, I would backup any files that I want to save to a portable harddrive, and then do a complete system restore using the installation DVD that came with your HP notebook, and then reinstall aol.  This would give you a complete fresh start.  Do be mindful that Windows Vista would only allow you a certain number of reinstallations before it will crash on you. So check with Microsoft first.  This should not a problem if you had bought the full version of Vista installation DVD.
