How do my husband, 85, and I, 69, get food from the Stockton Food Bank? We are both disabled and low income living on Social Security benefits. We have limited access to transportation as my husband recently gave up his drivers' license and I can't drive. We are limited to other folks' kindness to get out and about. Do you deliver? We live in Stockton.
Frankly, I resent your "noblesse oblige" flyer in the RECORD asking for donations and volunteers without once recognizing that us poor folks read the newspaper too. Some of us even own computers bought in better financial days. Just one sentence regarding how to get food from you to put on our table would have helped to somewhat eliminate your seeming "them and us" attitude.
It's humiliating enough to have to ask for free. Why do you have to make it worse? Having said that, we're glad you're there. Thank you.
