2001 Toyota MR2 braking problem

2 months ago I bought (as is) a rebuilt 2001 toyota mr2 spyder but I notice when I apply brake a little bit hard at around 40mph it pulls to the right and go back straight. I took it to MIDAS and they replaced the hydraulic hose because they think it might be clogged from the accident but after they replaced it and bled the air out, it still have same issue so I took it to different mechanic who specialize in sports car and said the issue is not the brake it is the bad front frame (the original rebuilder did a horrible job in repairing) and they even showed me the bent front frame and bad weldments, so they replaced the front frame with good one, rewelded and pulled it to allign the frame to spec (this is uniframe) and they said it should fix the problem but still have same braking issue and now the car is still in the shop and they can not figure out what's causing it. Please help.

 First guess would be caliper.

Also check for front Wear like a loose strut(If equipped)  Upper and lower ball joints, control arm bushings, stabilizer bushings.

If there are worn parts (especially on the right side) the caster could change negative when you apply the brake. therefore pulling right. In that case it would not be in the brakes at all.

These kind of problems can eat you alive..It could be anything from the calipers to ball joints, tie rod ends and even upper strut rod bushing (bearing). One of your calipers can be hanging up a little either by the pistons in the caliper not realeasing all the way causing drag and heat ,to the slider for the caliper to float on causing one side to run way hotter causing uneven braking in the front end.I'm sitting here shaking my head like I have parkinsons cause I've been thru a mess of these situations...after you had it aligned the veh should ride true, new model alignment machines (lazer style)are very accurate...however they test the car sitting still, with no suspention movement,I've seen situations to where a blown front strut caused the problem,to where when you hit the brakes the bad strut causes the car to dip unevenly in the front causing uneven weight distrubishion in the front causing a pulling effect, next tie rod ends inner or outter, rack and pinion you can't see the inner ones,to check for that you really need to put it on the rack grabbing the tires from side to side as if your trying to turn the car by the tire and feel for play,if so have some one do that for you while your looking to find out where the play is,look for oil leaking from either strut, for possible blown strut.after car is back down on the ground go from corner to corner of the car trying to bounce car and check for car recoil.another possiblity...hope that helps you...good luck in your adventures....Rusty Parts

I've had some cases were there was a front bushing wear, bad strut, in any case when the brake was applied, the caster would change negative, thus pulling the car in that direction. Let off the brake, and car would straiten out as the pressure was off the front and the caster returned to it's original position. Drove us crazy.
